Wonder if Rog will let me spend another weekend cropping?

Do you know one of my bad habits is stalking blogs? I can visit a friends blog like 10 times a day waiting for them to update. Is that not sad?

Anyway, I visited Deanna's blog today and read that the site she is on the DT is having a Birthday Crop during the weekend of August 8-10. This makes like 3 weekends in a month that I want to spend at the computer scrapping. It sounds like a blast and I hope that I get the chance to play over at Simply Obsessed.

The only conflict that I can think of is that we will be getting ready to take the chickens up to the fairgrounds.

Hope to see you there!

Today was busy!!

Roger's work had what I guess is a Family Day and invited them to a cook-out and a day at Binder Park Zoo. We don't do alot as a family, so I was glad to get this opportunity. It was a good time. We rode the bus to the Wild Africa safari exhibit and the boys got the chance to feed the giraffes and the pigmy goats (I will share pictures later).

I found out Rog had never been to the zoo! I couldn't believe it, he has lived in Battle Creek all his life and NEVER been to that zoo. Heck, when the boys were little, I swear I went 3 times a year. Each boys class had a outing to the zoo at least once a year. Anyway, after the Wild Africa Safari, we went and had lunch and then headed back to the zoo. Actually, we only went back so that Rog could ride the little train (that was always my favorite thing to do when I was little). Then we headed home.

I couldn't wait to get home...I had scrapping to do. You do remember that this weekend is CC's Cyber Crop? Before we left for the zoo, I had only finished the one layout from Sarah's challenges and then finished my layout for the challenge over at Backporch Memories. It was nice to scraplift a quick layout. I am very happy with the outcome. Ecspecially since I didn't even know I had this picture. It just jumped out at me this morning.

Once home, I was able to start on another challenge. Challenge #3 to be exact. We had to be inspired by the color schemes one of the new lines from CHA to create the layout. I picked Fancy Pants's ALL FALL line. All I can say is AMAZING and I can't wait to see it in person.

Anyway, here is my layout:

I hope to get more done BEFORE and AFTER church tomorrow!

There is still time to join in on the fun over a Coordinates Collections Cyber Crop! Hope to see you there!!

First Challene Done!

The first challenge Sarah posted was Candy, Candy, Candy.

We are to create a layout inspired by our favorite candy or sweet.

This layout must also include ribbon.

So, of course I had to go with Milky Way. That is my favorite candy. In fact, it wasn't an hour after giving birth to Doug that I asked Rog to run and get me a Milky Way,lol!

Milky Ways packaging is brown, green and white. So, that is what I based my colors on. Then I decided to scrap something that I enjoy, that brings me comfort...our garden. Yes, its alot of work but boy is it worth it! I love a fresh bowl of cherry tomatoes!!

Here is my layout (I swear its straight but I can't seem to scan it in straight)!!

Don't forget to stop on over and check out the Crop!

It's been FOREVER!

What have I been doing? Nothing. Thats the sad thing. I guess I have been trying to save my mojo for this weekend. Coordinates Collections is hosting a Cyber Crop this weekend. Actually, Sarah is in charge and has some amazing challenges posted. You should drop by and check it out. There are even door prizes...who doesn't love a chance to win some prizes.

In fact, I spent most of the past two nights cleaning and organizing my scrap space. So now I am ready...I can't wait to get started!!

Thanks to Deanna, I stumbled upon The Colorstory Challenge Blog which I created a layout for. The challenge posted was to created a layout based on an ad, this ad:
and this is what I came up with:

This picture is of the boys at the beach last year. It has always been one of my favorites. I really enjoyed creating this layout. The colors are so fun to work with.

Anyway, off to look and start on the challenges over at CC! Hope to see you there!!!

Vacation

Yesterday was my last day of vacation and you know what I did? I spent it with my nose in the middle of The Diplomat's Wife written by Pam Jenoff. I was able to read it in 4 hours! Can you believe that? In fact, I started to read it again before I went to bed. If you enjoy romantic books, this should be at the top of your list.

I hadn't planned on picking up this book because I took a list of books that I had gotten from the Book Club section over at Coordinates Collections, from Deanna's blog and Sarah's blog but wouldn't you know it, Marshall's Library didn't have it or someone had already checked it out. So, I picked out The Diplomats Wife from the NEW section and I am so glad that I did.

In fact, I ran back to the Library and picked up Pam Janoff's first book, The Kommandant's Girl.

I can't wait to put the boys to bed and start reading it.

It's been a busy 4th of July weekend for the Inman's

Let's see...
On Thursday night, we we to a cook out with everyone from the bank. That was fun! It was right across the street from the WK Kellogg Airport, so we got to watch the Hot Air Balloons fly into the airport.

I think the boys had a great time, even though they were out numbered by girls, LOL! The boys are at that age where they like girls but they won't ADMIT it. Well, Doug and Ry are but Nick still thinks they are stupid (no offense to any girl...)

On Friday, I ran to town and cleaned out my van. It felt awesome to get it swept out. I know that doesn't sound exciting but I am telling you that the van was in desperate need of a good cleaning. In fact, Doug told his brothers that it MUST remain that clean. We shall see!

At 1 we went to the annual Family, Friends and Neighbor picnic. It was really fun and I love the feeling of sitting down and talking to my neighbors. How often do we do that in today's society? The only problem with the picnic is that Nick must have said something that annoyed his cousins because he came to me to tell me that 1 held him down while 2 others punched him in the stomach. I was hot! From past experiences, I know that nothing would really be accomplished if I called the Moms. Its the "Let them work it out themselves" thinking. Ok, fine. So, I told my boys next time they see them, they need to take care of the issue. No fighting but to let the cousins know next time they want to pull that crap, they better make sure its fair. 3 against 3. The joys of boys and their way of working things out.

Anyway, later that night, I talked Rog into making a bonfire and roasting some s'mores while we were doing fireworks. Doug said it was the best 4th of July ever! I know that isn't true but its nice to know he had a good time. The only picture that I got that I really like is this one:

Today I had to work and we were semi-busy. Which was good because it made the time go by fast. Nick and Doug stayed the night over at Brenda and Charlies, so Rog and I took Ry out to Taco Bell for dinner. Afterwards, we went ran into town, parked the car and walked up to main street to watch all the classic cars cruise. Its a big thing on the weekend of the 4th. Our town has what you call, Cruise to the Fountain. Its pretty neat. While walking back to the truck, we noticed the fireworks going off at the fairgrounds, so we sat and watched them for awhile! It was a perfect night!

On Sunday we have a Family Reunion at 1. So, we have Church in the morning and then rush home to get ready to leave for the Reunion. Usually we don't stay long, just long enough to visit with a few family members and eat.

Just so you know, I have taken 2 hour naps every day of this long weekend! I think I will be taking another one tomorrow. LOL!

Starry Nights

Thats the delicious kit that I got to play with. It was a tough decision. I kept having to go back and look at the kits but I finally picked Starry Nights. My intent was not to go all American and 4th of July with it but I just couldn't help myself!

I had mentioned in an earlier blog post that I surprised myself with one of my layouts. Ok, here is the layout:

Totally worked with more photos than I normally do! If you have ever seen other work of mine, you will know that I tend to stick with one or two photos.

I finally got the chance to scrap this picture of Dougie. I took it a few years ago and never really had the right paper, imo, to scrap it. I just love the look on Dougies face while watching fireworks. It cracks me up!

I even created my swirl "freehand". Wow...Freehand! That is so not me. Guess this kit brought out alot of "first" for me, lol!

If you get a chance, you should stop over at CC's Gallery
